Snowy Hills & Seasonal Chills

1.
There are no Christmas bells No signing choirs Many prayers wishing well By open fires Few presents to be had And thousands only hope They'll soon be home to see Their moms and dads (Bridge) Read the same letter a thousand times When will the sun start to shine? Think about it on the holiest of nights (Chorus) A Merry Christmas to the men on the frontline A Merry Christmas to the families safe and sound A welcomed break from the fighting in this peacetime A chance to forget all their worries for a little while Sworn enemies Meet out in the field Stop a moment to share Their amenities Take a journey to No man's land Find my lost brother And bury him (Bridge) (Chorus x2)

The tree’s been done up Ornaments always delight And now we’ve cut up Cookies to decorate right We can’t sleep so we stay up Hoping he visits tonight When morning’s here we’ll get up Greeted by a most wonderful sight All the presents are stacked up They must go near ten feet high When wrapping paper’s been torn up Hides the floor from father’s eye As mother lifts her gifts up Made with heart she almost cries Snowing’s stopped and the sun’s up Another Christmas has gone right by Another Christmas has gone right by (Pack the bags you’re off to work, the days close in you’d rather shirk, all your tasks to dream about, a whole week off to laze around) (Time to be jolly, sleep under holly, others embody, melancholy) [Repeat to end]

i. On The Tip Of My Tongue Instrumental ii. Days Like Snowflakes Everything I set out to be In sweet time made it's way to me Floating on December's breeze Wringing out my dampened heart strings Everyday passes just the same Yet no two pass in the same way Melting before they can overstay Months at a time inside crystalline flakes iii. (Finding) Snowy Hills When you feel that Special chill that Seems to shoot through your spine (Repeat x3) iv. The Icy March From brisk fall days To sunny spring rays The summer breeze To winter's freeze A child's hopes Dashed in the icy march Of seasons past Relentless, they rip and tear The clothes woven To shelter what they hold dear From the whipping winds Their unabashed sheer A child's hopes Dashed in the icy march Of seasons past With no chance of recourse For sins, at long last Facing punishment, The child weeps tears Each frozen as it is cast Down, down Into the snow Where brown grass curls below A child's hopes Dashed in the icy march Of seasons past v. Whipping Winds Instrumental vi. Untouched Instrumental vii. (Found) Seasonal Chills What I found here May not have been, what I wanted But I found here What may will be, something I need What I found was So much better, to the highest degree What I found was Even better, than my wildest dream

about

These songs were covered as a primarily Christmas-themed EP. There were two cover songs done with a guest vocalist, but it is now up in the air whether or not they will be released here, so I have decided not to let that hold these three back from release.

Frontline Christmas was one of the first songs I ever wrote back in 2016. Another Christmas was finished a few weeks ago and put out as a standalone single, but was always intended for this EP. The title track was originally supposed to be an instrumental, but when inspiration strikes I must follow.

I hope anyone who finds these can enjoy them enough, I certainly enjoyed writing and recording them.
